What is resistance wire?

Resistance wire is used to turn electricity into heat. It is typically made from an alloy material which is a combination of at least two metals such as nickel and chromium (a.k.a. Nichrome or NiCr), or copper, manganese, and nickel. These combinations give it more strength and allow it to maintain its’ resistance to corrosion because it has a high melting point and ability to withstand high temperatures.

What is resistance wire used for?

Resistance wire is used in many applications such as: heaters (including space heaters, industrial, duct, and construction), furnaces, water heaters, hot wire cutters, dryers, toasters, kilns, heated floors, seat heaters for cars, and more.

What types of wire and gauge sizes do you provide?

We provide: Nickel/Chrome (NiCr) alloys such as NiCr-80/20 and NiCr-60/15; Iron Chrome Aluminum (FeCrAl) alloys such as Alloy 875, Alloy 815, and Alkrothal-14; and Nickel-Copper (NiCu) alloys such as Alloy-90 and Copel.

Various sizes: Our sizes range from 12 to 36 gauge and are available on 1-lb. to 50-lb. spools or supplied in pail packs. We also have common ribbon (flat wire) sizes.

What is your wire coiling process?

Coiling wire is our specialty. Our machines are able to wind a wide range of coil specifications to provide you with a complete coil assembly.
