About us
Our beginnings in the industry actually date back to 1965. Our current President/Owner started working at a mid-sized resistance wire company in Toronto as a General Labourer. Through his hard work, dedication, and professional acumen he was promoted to Foreman and shortly after to Plant Manager. In 1984, after the company was bought and moved to the U.S. him and a friend/co-worker knew that there would still be a need for resistance wire and wanted to keep its Canadian roots. In 1984, they started Ohm Alloys in a small industrial unit at 100 Westmore Drive in north Toronto. In 1985, the company was incorporated and became Ohm Alloys Ltd.
The early 1990s marked a time of retirement for one of Ohm's owners. This is when Ohm Alloys Ltd. became a family-owned business. We have been providing the electric heating industry with quality resistance alloys so much so that in the 1990s we took over a double unit to meet the growing needs of our customers and business.
2025 marks 40 years of our family being the trusted suppliers of your alloy and coiling needs. Our team’s expertise has almost 100 years of combined experience in the industry. We are large enough to handle any size order but small enough to give you the quality and personal service that you deserve because our customers are like family!
Our resistance wire is used in many applications such as: heaters (including space heaters, industrial, duct, and construction), furnaces, water heaters, hot wire cutters, dryers, toasters, kilns, heated floors, seat heaters for cars, and more.
We are proud of our history and excited about the opportunities ahead. To connect with us, please reach out to one of our experts via email, phone, or by completing our Contact form. We look forward to hearing from you.
